Who should complete this, and why
Infection prevention is everyone's duty in a clinical facility. Nurses, doctors, technicians and support staff all break or maintain the chain of transmission through hand hygiene and precaution use. NABH's IPC standards require an organised programme with defined roles, so this module underpins day-to-day practice for all clinical-area staff.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between standard and transmission-based precautions?
Standard precautions apply to every patient regardless of diagnosis and treat all blood and body fluids as potentially infectious. Transmission-based precautions (contact, droplet, airborne) are added for patients with a known or suspected organism spread by that route.
Why is the order of doffing PPE so important?
The outside of used PPE is contaminated. Doffing in the wrong order, or removing a mask before gloves, is a common way staff infect themselves, so the sequence is deliberately controlled.
