About This Programme
The Fellowship in Clinical Foundations provides a structured return to core clinical medicine. Ideal for doctors who have taken a career break, are returning from abroad, or are transitioning into a new specialty. Covers history-taking, clinical reasoning, patient safety, EBM and communication.
Eligibility
MBBS or equivalent. Open to all career stages.
What You'll Learn
Systematically take a structured clinical history and perform a targeted physical examination
Apply clinical reasoning frameworks to generate and narrow differential diagnoses confidently
Critically appraise clinical evidence and apply EBM principles to patient management decisions
Identify and report patient safety incidents using established frameworks such as SBAR and Datix
Prescribe safely for common conditions while recognising high-risk drug interactions and errors
Communicate clearly with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams in challenging situations
