This collection distils the NMC, ICMR, API, WHO and IAP guidance into the parts that change management: the diagnostic thresholds, the first-line drug, the escalation step and the target.
For exams, guideline knowledge is high-yield because questions increasingly test current standard-of-care rather than historical teaching. Knowing the recommended agent and the treatment target is often the single mark on offer.

How to use clinical guidelines to study
Read for the decision points, not the prose. For each guideline, extract the diagnostic cut-off, the first-line therapy, the monitoring target and the escalation trigger, then commit those four to memory.
Cross-check against the chapter. Use the summarised guideline to confirm what changes management, then reinforce the mechanism from the relevant MedNext chapter so the recommendation is understood, not just memorised.
Note where Indian guidance (ICMR, API, RSSDI, the national TB programme) differs from international guidance, because those differences are a favourite examiner discriminator.
