Study General Medicine
General Medicine is where the earlier subjects converge into diagnosis and management at the bedside, across cardiology, respiratory, gastroenterology, endocrinology, nephrology, neurology and infectious disease. The NMC framework codes each teachable point, for example IM11.1 for the classification of diabetes mellitus or IM18.3 for history taking in suspected stroke. MedNext maps all 31 medicine chapters to those codes, so you can see which competencies are covered and which still need work. The high-burden conditions carry the heaviest exam weight and dominate clinical practice: heart failure, ischaemic heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, pneumonia, tropical fevers, HIV, liver disease and stroke recur through long cases, viva and NEET PG. History taking, examination and investigation logic run through every chapter and are examined in the clinical stations as much as in written papers. Applied medicine is built in: the CD4 count behind an opportunistic infection, thyroid function testing behind a goitre, and the approach to hypercalcaemia are all tagged to their codes. Each chapter pairs a detailed reading with practice questions and a one-page cheat sheet under the same NMC tags. Learn the clinical reasoning once and revision becomes a checklist rather than a re-read.

How many medicine chapters does MedNext cover?
The general medicine subject hub covers 31 chapters, spanning cardiology, respiratory, gastroenterology, endocrinology, nephrology, neurology and infectious disease. Each chapter is mapped to its NMC competency codes, so coverage is visible rather than assumed.
Is medicine content mapped to the NMC competency framework?
Yes. Every medicine chapter, practice question and cheat sheet is tagged to an official NMC competency code, for example IM11.1 for the classification of diabetes mellitus. This is the same framework that MBBS university exams, NEET PG and NExT draw from.
Which medicine topics carry the most exam weight?
The high-burden conditions dominate: heart failure, ischaemic heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, pneumonia, tropical fevers, HIV, liver disease and stroke recur through long cases, viva and NEET PG. History and examination logic is tested in every clinical station.
Does MedNext include medicine MCQs and revision material?
Each medicine chapter is paired with practice questions and a one-page cheat sheet, all tagged to the same NMC codes as the reading. That lets you move from learning a competency to testing and revising it without leaving the topic.
Can I preview medicine before paying?
Yes. You can preview the platform and read a free sample chapter after registering, then view plans when you are ready to decide.
