Magnesium trisilicate with magnesium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate clinical drug profile including indications, dosing, side effects, cautions and interactions.
Indications and dose
**Dyspepsia**
- **Child** (By Mouth): 12-17 years 10-20 mL 3 times a day, alternatively as required, dose to be made up with water.
- **Adult** (By Mouth): 10-20 mL 3 times a day, alternatively as required, dose to be made up with water.
**Dyspepsia for magnesium trisilicate with magnesium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate**
- **Child 5-11 years** (By mouth): 5-10 mL 3 times a day, alternatively as required, dose to be made up with water.
- **Child 12-17 years** (By mouth): 10-20 mL 3 times a day, alternatively as required, dose to be made up with water.
Cautions
For magnesium trisilicate with magnesium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate Heart failure; hypermagnesaemia; hypertension; metabolic alkalosis; respiratory alkalosis
Contraindications
For magnesium trisilicate with magnesium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate Hypophosphataemia; severe renal failure
Hepatic impairment
For magnesium trisilicate with magnesium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate In patients with fluid retention avoid antacids containing large amounts of sodium. Avoid antacids containing magnesium salts in hepatic coma if there is a risk of renal failure.
Renal impairment
For magnesium trisilicate with magnesium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate Extreme caution (high sodium content); avoid in severe renal failure. M
