Dr Shameer Deen (MBBS, MS, MRCS) is the founder and clinical lead of MedNext Academy. He practises as a surgeon and leads the clinical review of all MedNext educational content.
Dr Shameer Deen is a surgeon (MBBS, MS General Surgery, MRCS) and the founder of MedNext Academy. He established MedNext to address a problem he experienced firsthand: the disconnect between how medical students learn and how exams test clinical reasoning.
After training in general surgery and passing the MRCS, he built MedNext around the principle that every wrong answer should route back to the underlying concept. The platform now provides 80,000+ MCQs, 411 chapters across 19 subjects, a drug formulary, clinical calculators and 15 study modes - all authored and reviewed under his clinical oversight.
Dr Deen personally reviews the clinical accuracy of MedNext's educational content, including the 424 clinical approach guides, the MCQ explanations and the drug formulary entries. He also designs the exam preparation strategy content for NEET PG, INI-CET, FMGE and MBBS university examinations.
