Indications and dose
**Postpartum haemorrhage caused by uterine atony**
- **Adult** (By Intramuscular Injection): 1 mL for 1 dose, dose may be repeated if other causes of haemorrhage are ruled out and other uterotonics are not available (e.g. in a home birth setting), unless a dose has already been given for active management of the third stage of labour.
**Active management of the third stage of labour**
- **Adult** (By Intramuscular Injection): 1 mL for 1 dose, to be administered immediately after delivery and before the cord is clamped and cut.
**Bleeding due to incomplete miscarriage or abortion**
- **Adult** (By Intramuscular Injection): Adjusted according to response to, the patient's condition and blood loss.
