Indications and dose
**Psoriasis [using cream, gel, or ointment]**
- **Adult** (To The Skin): Apply once daily usually for 4 to 8 weeks, if necessary treatment may be continued for longer or repeated on the advice of a specialist, when using calcipotriol-containing preparations the maximum total dose of calcipotriol is 5 mg (equivalent to 100 g total amount of any formulation) in any 1 week, applied to a maximum 30% of body surface.
**Scalp psoriasis [using cream or gel]**
- **Adult** (To The Skin): Apply once daily usually for 4 to 8 weeks, if necessary treatment may be continued for longer or repeated on the advice of a specialist, when using calcipotriol-containing preparations the maximum total dose of calcipotriol is 5 mg (equivalent to 100 g total amount of any formulation) in any 1 week, applied to a maximum 30% of body surface.
**Psoriasis [flare treatment]**
- **Adult** (To The Skin Using Foam): Apply once daily for 4 weeks, if necessary treatment may be continued for longer or repeated on the advice of a specialist, when using calcipotriol-containing preparations the maximum total dose of calcipotriol is 5 mg (equivalent to 100 g total amount of any formulation) in any 1 week, applied to a maximum 30% of body surface.
**Psoriasis [maintenance treatment]**
- **Adult** (To The Skin Using Foam): Apply twice weekly, maintenance treatment to be started if adequate response is achieved after 4 weeks of once-daily treatment, apply on 2 non-consecutive days to previously affected areas, when using calcipotriol-containing preparations the maximum total dose of calcipotriol is 5 mg (equivalent to 100 g total amount of any formulation) in any 1 week, applied to a maximum 30% of body surface, once-daily treatment should be restarted if relapse occurs.
**Psoriasis [using gel or ointment] (under expert supervision) for calcipotriol with betamethasone**
- **Child 12-17 years** (To the skin): Apply once daily usually for up to 4 weeks, if necessary treatment may be continued for longer or repeated on the advice of a specialist, when using calcipotriol-containing preparations the maximum total dose of calcipotriol is 3.75 mg (equivalent to 75 g total amount of any formulation) in any 1 week, applied to a maximum 30% of body surface.
**Scalp psoriasis [using gel] (under expert supervision) for calcipotriol with betamethasone**
- **Child 12-17 years** (To the skin): Apply 1-4 g once daily usually for 4 weeks, if necessary treatment may be continued for longer or repeated on the advice of a specialist, when using calcipotriol-containing preparations the maximum total dose of calcipotriol is 3.75 mg (equivalent to 75 g total amount of any formulation) in any 1 week, applied to a maximum 30% of body surface.
Contraindications
For calcipotriol with betamethasone Erythrodermic psoriasis; pustular psoriasis
