This is a self-paced training module that maps to NMC CPD framework - Category 3 (teaching and academics). It is delivered inside the MedNext app so clinicians and hospital staff can work through it between shifts, with no live sessions or fixed deadlines.

Consultants, senior residents and faculty who teach undergraduates and postgraduates, and anyone taking on a formal educator role, benefit from teaching skills. Clinical teaching is often done by clinicians who were never formally taught how to teach, which is why a structured grounding in learning theory, objective-setting and feedback raises the quality of the whole training environment. The NMC's move to competency-based medical education and its faculty-development expectations make teaching a recognised professional competency within the CPD framework rather than an optional extra.

It is an approach that defines the abilities a graduate must demonstrate and organises teaching and assessment around achieving those competencies, rather than around time served. It underpins the current Indian undergraduate curriculum.
What makes feedback effective?
Effective feedback is specific, timely, based on observed behaviour, and framed to support improvement rather than judge the person. Structured models help the giver separate observation from interpretation and agree an action.
