Why group revision works
Medical entrance exams like NEET-PG and INI-CET cover 19 subjects across preclinical and clinical disciplines. Revising alone through that volume is isolating, and isolation is where motivation breaks down.
Study Rooms bring structure to group revision. Each room is a shared workspace where two or more students commit to a topic, set a timer, and work through material together. The format is simple: pick a subject, join a room, and start a focused session with peers who are covering the same ground.
This is not a video call or a chat group. It is a structured revision environment built around timed focus blocks, shared goals, and mutual accountability.
How Study Rooms work
Each room is designed around a single revision session with clear start and end points.
Choose your subject
Browse open rooms by subject or exam (NEET-PG, INI-CET, FMGE, university) or create your own room for a specific topic like Pharmacology or Surgery.
Set session goals
Define what the group aims to cover: a chapter of Pathology, 50 MCQs on Microbiology, or a revision pass through Forensic Medicine tables.
Timed focus blocks
Sessions run on a Pomodoro-style timer — 25 minutes of focused work followed by a 5-minute break. The timer keeps everyone synchronised.
Accountability partners
Each participant's progress is visible to the room. Knowing others are working alongside you reduces the temptation to switch tabs or drift off task.
Built for Indian medical exam preparation
Study Rooms are organised around the subjects and exam patterns that matter to you. Rooms can be filtered by exam — NEET-PG, INI-CET, FMGE, or MBBS university — so you revise with students preparing for the same target.
For NEET-PG and INI-CET, where the syllabus spans all 19 preclinical and clinical subjects tested in a single sitting, group revision helps you maintain breadth. A Physiology room in the morning and a Surgery room in the evening mirrors the mixed-subject stamina these exams demand.
FMGE candidates, who often study independently after returning from abroad, benefit from the structured peer contact that Study Rooms provide. University exam students can create rooms aligned to their internal assessment schedule.

Common questions
Do I need a camera or microphone to use Study Rooms?
No. Study Rooms are not video or voice calls. They are shared timer-based workspaces where you can see who is in the room and track session progress. Communication happens through brief text updates, not live audio.
Can I create a room for a specific chapter or topic?
Yes. When creating a room, you select the subject and can add a topic label such as 'Pharmacology — Autonomic Nervous System' or 'Surgery — Thyroid disorders'. Other students browsing rooms can see this label before joining.
How many people can join a single room?
Rooms support 2 to 10 participants. This keeps the group small enough that each person's presence is felt, which is what drives the accountability effect.
Is this feature available on the mobile app?
Study Rooms are a community feature within the MedNext app. You can join or create rooms from your phone, making it easy to start a session from wherever you are.
Are Study Rooms free or part of a paid plan?
Study Rooms are included with every MedNext plan, including the free tier. There are no additional charges to create or join rooms.
