Does NEET-PG have sectional timing?
Yes, NEET-PG has sectional timing from 2026. NBEMS split the paper into five time-bound sections, named Group A to E, with 36 questions in each and exactly 42 minutes allotted per section. You cannot move to the next section before its 42 minutes are over, and once a section's time ends you cannot go back to review or change any answer in it. This is a significant change from the earlier format, where candidates could navigate freely across the whole paper and revisit any question until the overall time ran out. The five sections together make up the 180 questions and the full 3 hours 30 minutes of the exam. The structure forces pacing decisions inside each 42-minute block: you must decide whether to attempt a doubtful question then and there, because the option to return later is removed once the section closes. An on-screen timer shows both the section time and the overall time, and the software advances automatically when a section's clock ends.
