NEET-PG FAQ
How does NEET-PG counselling work?
NEET-PG counselling is conducted online in two streams: the Medical Counselling Committee runs the 50% All India Quota seats plus the seats it handles centrally, while the respective state authorities run the remaining state-quota seats. MCC counselling covers the 50% AIQ seats in government colleges, along with 100% of seats in deemed and central universities, ESIC, AFMS teaching institutes, and post-MBBS DNB seats. The MCC process runs in four rounds: Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and the final stray vacancy round. In each round a candidate registers on mcc.nic.in, fills and locks choices, and is allotted a seat based on rank, category and choices, then reports to the institute with original documents for verification. Upgradation is possible up to Round 3. The stray vacancy round is the last chance, open only to candidates not already holding a seat, and failing to join after allotment there can bar you from next year's exam. State-quota counselling for the other 50% follows each state's own schedule.
