- **PRE-HEP-POST:** Prehepatic production excess, Hepatocyte handling defect, Posthepatic obstruction. Frames the three-tier classification of jaundice.
- **Lobar CGR:** Congestion, Gray and red hepatisation, Resolution. Orders the pathological stages of lobar pneumonia.
- **CAP CORE:** Fibrous Cap over Atheromatous lipid Core, complications: rupture, haemorrhage, thrombosis. Describes the structure and complications of an atherosclerotic plaque.
- **IE FRIES:** Friable, Ragged, Infective, Embolic vegetations Seed emboli. Captures the character of infective endocarditis vegetations.
- **ATN PATCH:** Acute Tubular Necrosis is Patchy, has casts, and may heal. Recalls the patchy, reversible nature of acute tubular necrosis.
