NEET-PG is a computer-based test of 180 MCQs carrying 720 marks, with plus 4 for a correct answer and minus 1 for a wrong one, conducted by NBEMS. Mnemonics and expansions

**ACID:** Anaphylactic (Type I), Cytotoxic (Type II), Immune complex (Type III), Delayed (Type IV). Classifies the four types of hypersensitivity reaction.
**MADGE:** IgM, IgA, IgD, IgG, IgE. Lists the five immunoglobulin classes.
**IMViC:** Indole, Methyl Red, Voges-Proskauer, Citrate. Names the tests that separate E. coli (plus, plus, minus, minus) from Klebsiella.
**JONES:** Joints, Carditis (O-shaped heart), Nodules, Erythema marginatum, Sydenham chorea. Recalls the major criteria for rheumatic fever.
**FROM JANE:** Fever, Roth spots, Osler nodes, Murmur, Janeway lesions, Anaemia, Nail splinter haemorrhages, Emboli. Lists the clinical signs of infective endocarditis.
**HiPPO:** High protein, Pressure elevated, Oligoglucorrhachia (low glucose). Summarises the CSF findings in bacterial meningitis.
**5 C's of Cholera:** Comma-shaped bacillus, Cholera toxin, cAMP elevation, CFTR chloride channel, Copious rice-water stool. Captures the key features of Vibrio cholerae disease.
**CHAMP:** Cerebral malaria, Hypoglycaemia, Anaemia and acidosis, Multi-organ failure, Parasitaemia over 5 percent. Lists the features of severe falciparum malaria.
**Nagging Pests Must Breathe:** Nocardia, Pseudomonas, Mycobacterium, Bacillus. Names the obligate aerobic bacteria.
**Old Men Play Loud Saxophones:** Optochin-sensitive pneumococcus, Meningococcus, Pleomorphic H. influenzae, Listeria, Streptococcus GBS. Recalls the morphology of the common meningitis organisms.
**Rule of 8:** MHC I times CD8 equals 8, MHC II times CD4 equals 8. Pairs each MHC class with its matching T-cell co-receptor.
**Find It, Grow It, Show It, Find It Again:** Found in all cases, Isolated in pure culture, Reproduces disease, Re-isolated from host. States Koch's four postulates of causation.
