Liver cirrhosis
A cut liver surface with a diffuse, fine nodular pattern: regenerative nodules separated by fibrous bands, replacing the normal smooth architecture. This is end-stage scarring, and it explains the clinical consequences you are examined on, portal hypertension and impaired synthetic function. Describe the specimen by organ, cut surface and nodule size before naming the diagnosis.
