What's inside the Fundoscopy library
The fundoscopy library builds a fixed examination sequence — disc, then vessels, then macula, then periphery — so you read the whole fundus rather than fixate on one sign.
Diabetic retinopathy
Look for dot-and-blot haemorrhages, hard exudates (yellow, well-defined lipid deposits) and cotton-wool spots. New vessels at the disc or elsewhere signal the proliferative stage, which threatens sight and needs urgent ophthalmology referral. Contrast with papilloedema, where the disc margins are blurred and the cup is filled.
Papilloedema
Bilateral optic disc swelling with blurred margins, a filled-in cup and engorged veins. Because it signals raised intracranial pressure, it changes the whole work-up — imaging before any lumbar puncture.
