Indications and dose
**Post-exposure prophylaxis of varicella-zoster infection [neonates exposed to maternal chickenpox 7 days before or after delivery] for varicella-zoster immunoglobulin**
- **Neonate** (By intravenous infusion): 50 units/kg for 1 dose (max. per dose 125 units), dose to be administered as soon as possible-preferably within 96 hours of, but no later than 10 days after, exposure.
