Indications and dose
**Ovarian cancer**
- **Adult** (By Mouth, Or By Intravenous Injection, Or By Intravenous Infusion, Or By Intraperitoneal Instillation): Specialist drug - access specialist resources for dosing information.
**Conditioning treatment before allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation in patients with malignant and non-malignant disease**

Contraindications
For treosulfan [Specialist drug] General contra-indications: Acute porphyrias ; concomitant use of live vaccines Specific contra-indications: When used for conditioning treatment before allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation Active uncontrolled infection; Fanconi anaemia and other DNA repair disorders; severe concomitant cardiac, lung, liver and renal impairment
Side effects
For treosulfan [Specialist drug] General side-effects: Common or very common Alopecia; anaemia; bone marrow disorders; leucopenia; nausea; sepsis; skin reactions; thrombocytopenia; vomiting Uncommon Neoplasms; treatment related secondary malignancy Rare or very rare Addison's disease; cardiomyopathy; hypoglycaemia; influenza like illness; paraesthesia; pneumonia; pulmonary fibrosis; scleroderma Specific side-effects: Common or very common With intravenous use Appetite decreased; arrhythmia; arthralgia; asthenia; chills; constipation; diarrhoea; dizziness; dysphagia; dyspnoea; febrile neutropenia; fever; flushing; gastrointestinal discomfort; gastrointestinal disorders; haemorrhage; headache; hypersensitivity; hypertension; insomnia; lethargy; myalgia; oedema; oral disorders; pain; renal impairment; weight changes Uncommon With intravenous use Confusion; cough; dry mouth; hepatic disorders; hiccups; hyperglycaemia; hyperhidrosis; hypotension; interstitial lung disease; laryngeal pain; oesophageal pain; peripheral neuropathy; respiratory disorders; sinusoidal obstruction syndrome With oral use Stomatitis Rare or very rare With intravenous use Inflammation localised With oral use Alveolitis; cystitis haemorrhagic Frequency not known With intravenous use Acidosis; agitation; amenorrhoea; cardiac arrest; cystitis; dry eye; dysphonia; dysuria; electrolyte imbalance; embolism; encephalopathy; extrapyramidal symptoms; feeling cold; glucose tolerance impaired; heart failure; hypoxia; intracranial haemorrhage; muscle weakness; myocardial infarction; oropharyngeal pain; ovarian suppression; pericardial effusion; skin ulcer; syncope Side-effects, further information Prolonged use of treosulfan is associated with an increased incidence of acute non-lymphocytic leukaemia.
