Drug action
Tezepelumab is a monoclonal antibody that interferes with thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP) binding, thereby reducing the production of inflammatory biomarkers and cytokines.
Indications and dose
**Severe asthma [add-on maintenance therapy] (initiated by a specialist)**
- **Adult** (By Subcutaneous Injection): 210 mg every 4 weeks.
**Severe asthma [add-on maintenance therapy] (initiated by a specialist) for tezepelumab**
- **Child 12-17 years** (By subcutaneous injection): 210 mg every 4 weeks.
Cautions
Helminth infections; serious infections Cautions, further information Infections Pre-existing helminth infections and serious infections should be treated before starting tezepelumab. During tezepelumab therapy, if a helminth infection develops and does not respond to anti-helminth treatment, or a serious infection develops, discontinue tezepelumab until the infection is resolved. Interactions
**Severe interactions:**
- In a randomised, double blind, parallel group study of 70 patients aged between 12 and 21 years with moderate to severe asthma, tezepelumab treatment did not appear to affect the humoral antibody...
