Indications and dose
**Poisoning with cyanides**
- **Adult** (By Intravenous Injection): 12.5 g for 1 dose, to be given over 10 minutes, dose may be repeated in severe cyanide poisoning.
**Poisoning with cyanides for sodium thiosulfate**
- **Child** (By intravenous injection): Consult the National Poisons Information Service.
**Prevention of cisplatin-induced ototoxicity for Pedmarqsi**
- **Child (body-weight up to 5 kg)** (By intravenous infusion): 6.4 g/m2, for details regarding timing of administration relative to cisplatin, and premedication requirements-consult product literature.
- **Child (body-weight 5-10 kg)** (By intravenous infusion): 9.6 g/m2, for details regarding timing of administration relative to cisplatin, and premedication requirements-consult product literature.
- **Child (body-weight 11 kg and above)** (By intravenous infusion): 12.8 g/m2, for details regarding timing of administration relative to cisplatin, and premedication requirements-consult product literature.
Side effects
Frequency not known Disorientation; feeling hot; headache; hypotension; nausea; taste salty; vomiting
Interactions
**Other interactions (2):**
- Possible interaction may occur with hydroxocobalamin.
- Nithiodote should not be co-administered with hydroxocobalamin in the same injection line.
