Indications and dose
**Prevention of Vitamin K deficiency in malabsorption syndromes**
- **Adult** (By Mouth): 10-40 mg daily, dose to be adjusted as necessary.
**Supplementation in vitamin K malabsorption for menadiol sodium phosphate**
- **Child 1-11 years** (By mouth): 5-10 mg daily, dose to be adjusted as necessary.
- **Child 12-17 years** (By mouth): 10-20 mg daily, dose to be adjusted as necessary.
Cautions
For menadiol sodium phosphate G6PD deficiency (risk of haemolysis); vitamin E deficiency (risk of haemolysis)
Pregnancy
For menadiol sodium phosphate Avoid in late pregnancy and labour unless benefit outweighs risk of neonatal haemolytic anaemia, hyperbilirubinaemia, and kernicterus in neonate.
