Lutropin alfa is a recombinant human luteinising hormone.
Indications and dose
**Treatment of infertility in women with proven hypopituitarism or who have not responded to clomifene (in conjunction with follicle-stimulating hormone),Superovulation treatment**
- **Adult** (By Subcutaneous Injection): for assisted conception (such as in vitro fertilisation) (in conjunction with follicle-stimulating hormone) (female) Adjusted according to response.
Cautions
Acute porphyrias
Contraindications
Mammary carcinoma; ovarian carcinoma; ovarian enlargement or cyst (unless caused by polycystic ovarian disease); tumours of hypothalamus; tumours of pituitary; undiagnosed vaginal bleeding; uterine carcinoma
Side effects
Common or very common Breast pain; diarrhoea; gastrointestinal discomfort; headache; nausea; ovarian and fallopian tube disorders; pelvic pain; vomiting Rare or very rare Thromboembolism
