Indications and dose
**Complicated intra-abdominal infection**
- **Adult** (By Intravenous Infusion): 1/0.5 g every 8 hours for 4-14 days.
**Complicated urinary tract infection,Acute pyelonephritis**
- **Adult** (By Intravenous Infusion): 1/0.5 g every 8 hours for 7 days.
**Hospital-acquired pneumonia,Ventilator-associated pneumonia**
- **Adult** (By Intravenous Infusion): 2/1 g every 8 hours for 8-14 days.
Side effects
Common or very common Abdominal pain; diarrhoea; dizziness; eosinophilia; headache; leucopenia; nausea; neutropenia; pseudomembranous enterocolitis; skin reactions; thrombocytopenia; vomiting Uncommon Anaphylactic reaction; angioedema Rare or very rare Agranulocytosis; haemolytic anaemia; nephritis tubulointerstitial (reversible); severe cutaneous adverse reactions (SCARs) Side-effects For ceftolozane with tazobactam Common or very common Anxiety; Clostridioides difficile colitis; constipation; electrolyte imbalance; hypotension; insomnia; thrombocytosis Uncommon Anaemia; angina pectoris; arrhythmias; dyspnoea; gastrointestinal discomfort; gastrointestinal disorders; hyperglycaemia; increased risk of infection; ischaemic stroke; renal impairment; venous thrombosis Frequency not known Antibiotic associated colitis
Pregnancy

When used for Hospital-acquired pneumonia or Ventilator-associated pneumonia: Manufacturer advises reduce dose to 1/0.5 g every 8 hours if creatinine clearance 30-50 mL/minute and 500/250 mg every 8 hours if creatinine clearance 15-29 mL/minute.
