Indications and dose
**Vertigo, tinnitus and hearing loss associated with Mnire's disease**
- **Adult** (By Mouth): Initially 16 mg 3 times a day, dose preferably taken with food; maintenance 24-48 mg daily.
Cautions
Asthma; history of peptic ulcer
Contraindications
Phaeochromocytoma
Side effects
Common or very common Gastrointestinal discomfort; headache; nausea Frequency not known Allergic dermatitis; vomiting
Interactions
**Other interactions (2):**
- There is a case report of an interaction with ethanol and a compound containing pyrimethamine with dapsone and another of potentiation of betahistine with salbutamol.
- Betahistine is a histamine analogue, concurrent administration of H1 antagonists may cause a mutual attenuation of effect of the active agents.
Pregnancy
Avoid unless clearly necessary-no information available.
