Indications and dose
**Mild to moderate acne vulgaris**
- **Child** (To The Skin): 12-17 years Apply once daily, apply thinly in the evening.
- **Adult** (To The Skin): Apply once daily, apply thinly in the evening.
**Mild to moderate acne vulgaris for adapalene**
- **Child 12-17 years** (To the skin): Apply once daily, apply thinly in the evening.
**Infantile acne for adapalene**
- **Child 1-23 months** (To the skin): Apply once daily, apply thinly in the evening.
Cautions
Avoid accumulation in angles of the nose; avoid contact with eyes, nostrils, mouth and mucous membranes, eczematous, broken or sunburned skin; avoid exposure to UV light (including sunlight, solariums); avoid in severe acne involving large areas; caution in sensitive areas such as the neck
Interactions
**Other interactions (1):**
- From previous experience with adapalene and benzoyl peroxide, there are no known interactions with other medicinal products which might be used cutaneously and concurrently with this medicine.
Pregnancy
MHRA advises that systemic exposure is thought to be negligible following application of topical retinoids. However, since risk cannot be excluded, use of topical retinoids is contraindicated during pregnancy as a precaution.
Breast feeding
Amount of drug in milk probably too small to be harmful; ensure infant does not come in contact with treated areas.
